CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Clark County board signed an agreement Friday, August 18, to lease space on a local radio station tower to make emergency response communication better.
The agreement is the first step in the process. The effort will use American Rescue Funds for a new digital radio system.
The system will be installed on WMMC’s tower, which Rex Goble, Chairman of the Crawford County Board said is the tallest tower in the center of the county.
The new system will provide better coverage throughout the county
Goble said the current radio system is outdated and several areas throughout the county have dead spots.
The county will provide new radios and equipment to all townships as well as to the highway department, ambulance service, and city police.
Goble said this upgrade will benefit every town and area of Clark County.
