TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — If you’re looking for a reason to get your classic or beater cars out of the garage this weekend, we have just the thing for you!
During the weekend there will be all kinds of cool things to do during Bringing Back the Bash. To kick off the cruise the Wabash Valley Dragway hosted a drag racing event Friday evening. There was drag racing, burnout competitions, food, DJ/Music, merch vendors, and more.
On July 8th there will be two separate events. From 4 to 7 p.m. The Mill will host a gathering for everyone to enjoy. There will be a live band (Mullet Overview), car viewing, bounce house/slide, food trucks, merch and more. Then from 8 p.m. to midnight will be Cruising the Bash on Wabash Avenue.
Racer Thad Mann said this event brings back a lot of memories.
“It’s stuff that we use to do when I was a teenager with some of our old muscle cars and stuff. And it’s awesome that they’re bringing it to the Wabash Valley Dragway to kick it off for the weekend,” Thad said.
Event Organizer Sonny Rooney said he’s excited to see everyone enjoy the event.
“I got to see three generations sitting here you know and getting to enjoy what we all did. Even generations before me did. Got to see what it was like before today’s technology,” Rooney said.
All proceeds will be donated to local charities. For more information you can visit their Facebook page and see picture below for route map.
