PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The search continues three days after a silver alert was declared by Indiana State Police regarding a missing woman from Mecca.
Betty J. Capps was last seen on Thursday, June 29. She is a white woman with brown hair and blue eyes. Capps is around 180 pounds, has a butterfly tattoo on her right leg, and drives a gray 2007 Ford Focus.

Friday, searchers with Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division utilized sonar to search both the Wabash River and Raccoon Lake.
“At the request of the Parke County Sheriff’s Department, we are conducting sonar searches of the Wabash River and Raccoon Lake today,” DNR Public Relations Officer Captain Jet Quillen said. “We have no specific information leading to those areas but were requested to clear them as a possibility for them.”
As crews searched the waters, Sheriff Jason Frazier added that they will utilize any method available to find Capps.
“We hope and pray to find her safe,” Frazier said. “We are exhausting all avenues and resources until she is found.”
