CLARK County, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – A driver was safely helped from the roof of their vehicle in Clark County, Ill., early Saturday morning after their car went off the road and ended up in a creek.
According to a Facebook post from the Marshall Fire and Rescue, just before 8 a.m. Saturday a crew was sent to the area near Weaver Road, between Thompson and Macke roads for on a report of a car in Big Creek, which was concerning because it was swiftly flowing. However, the car ended up in a smaller creek and the driver was found uninjured sitting on top of the car.
“Because of the location and conditions, Sugar Creek Fire & Rescue was requested for their technical rescue team. Upon their arrival, the driver was quickly removed from the top of the car without further incident,” according to the post.
