WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– WTWO has received reports of tornadoes and ping-pong-ball sized hail following a strong line of storms that swept through the Wabash Valley Sunday.
A tornado warning was issued for multiple counties across the area throughout the afternoon, including portions of Martin, Greene and Daviess counties. The Daviess County central dispatch office said in a Facebook post that the I-69 exit near Crane on U.S. 231 and State Road 58 will be closed for an “extended amount of time” due to damage.
The French Lick Resort posted that there was “extensive hail damage” at the West Baden Springs Hotel. The resort will still be open to guests, but the atrium will be closed indefinitely.
The Martin County Dispatch office has said there are firefighters out helping residents, but they do not have road damage to report at this time.
This is a developing story and we will post more information as it comes out.
