SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sullivan County officials have announced they will be testing the outdoor severe weather warning sirens on Tuesday, March 14.
According to a post from Sullivan County Sheriff Jason Bobbitt, the siren testing will start at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday. As a part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week, Sullivan County tornado sirens will be tested to ensure that the county’s emergency sirens are in working order. Bobbitt’s post also states, “In the event of an actual weather emergency, the outdoor sirens are designed to alert residents to move indoors, and tune in for further information.”
Bobbitt wants to reassure residents that the sirens are just part of a drill and there is no need to panic or call emergency services due to the sirens.
