TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A cabin here in the Wabash Valley has been added to a list of the best places to rent across the country.
Thrillist recently published an article detailing some of the best cabins to stay in across the United States. Providing unique cabin options from several different states, Thrillist has compiled many beautiful places to stay with a wide range of styles, designs, and amenities.
“Whatever you’re in the mood for, you have to admit that there’s something especially comforting about cabins. It’s the rustic wood construction, the glowing fireplace, the views of ponds and mountains and forests…. The sight of a cabin, even in a photograph, seems to send some kind of deep and primitive message to our soaring, cabin-loving hearts.”

Being the only rental in the state of Indiana to make it on the list, Peaceful Pines is a property located a short drive just south of Terre Haute. Currently priced at $206 a night, the traditional log cabin sits on eight acres next to a small pond and offers multiple amenities, like a screened-in porch, wrap-around deck, heated floor tiles, a hot tub, a guest house, and more.
Peaceful Pines is run by two hosts, Joni and Doris. You can contact Airbnb host Joni, who has been given the title of Superhost for several good ratings, to schedule a stay in the large, three-bedroom, six-guest cabin. According to Joni’s profile, the cabin is owned by Indiana natives.
“Throughout all of my stays in Airbnbs, I’ve been wanting to host/own one for myself…and now I have two! My husband and I grew up in Indiana and we spend a lot of time there, so having a cabin getaway in Terre Haute has been such a fun experience.”
