TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Traffic in an area of Terre Haute was shut down for a time as Firefighters worked to clean up a commercial structure fire in Terre Haute.
The call came in of a fire located at BBQ Wood at the Crossing, a wood supply business at the corner of 15th and Hulman Streets at approximately 2:20 p.m.
According to firefighters on scene, as of 3:10 p.m., the fire had been put out. One person was in the facility when the call came in, but they were able to escape uninjured. A small portion of the building was damaged by the fire.
The business splits and sells firewood. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
As of 4:50 p.m., Terre Haute Fire Chief Bill Berry reports that firefighters are finishing up on scene. Traffic has been re-opened in the area.
