TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Changes could be coming Fairbanks park in 2023.
Riverscape board members held a meeting on Saturday at the park to look into the cost of installing seasonal lights in about a year. Board member Gerri Varner said she thinks it can be an asset to the community.
“Terre Haute has a beautiful river and a lovely park area that is really full of potential to bring people to our city, and I think bring business and industry in. Because people are looking for quality of life,” she said.
Varner said they met with someone who has done similar installations in the area, and Saturday’s meeting helped them gain an understanding of what the process will look like.
“We want to start, we can’t do it all in one year, but where do we start, and how do we do this? He’s been very nice to come down and talk to us,” she said.
Varner said she hopes to get plans finalized in the next couple of months.
