TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local restaurant is remembering the life of a late local radio DJ.
It has been six years since Matt Luecking of Terre Haute was killed.
One way his memory continues to live on is with the Blessed For Another Day: Matt Luecking Memorial Endowment Fund which is managed by the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. Matt’s brother Eric Luecking said this fundraiser fits Matt’s personality.
“Matt always talked about #BlessedforAnotherDay on social media, so that’s something we try to continue to use that hashtag and continue to use that motto,” Eric Luecking said. “He was also big on the #CityOfRestaurants so that was something else we wanted to incorporate with today’s event.”
Eric Eslinger owns Maurizio’s Pizza in Terre Haute and remembers Luecking as a friend to many people in the community.
“Matt was a friend of the family and his brother Eric asked me if we ever did anything like this, and we have before, so we decided to give it a go and I think it will be a good thing,” said Eslinger.
Maurizio’s Pizza will be donating a portion of Monday’s sales toward the fund with 20% of all sales through 9 p.m. Monday being donated. The fund then benefits the Vigo County Education Foundation, the Terre Haute Parks Department, and the Terre Haute Children’s Museum.

Maurizio’s Pizza is open from 4-9 p.m. Monday.
