TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — In an effort to reduce drug overdose deaths, free naloxone kits are being made available to Wabash Valley residents.
Kits can be picked up anonymously at anytime. They can be found in a box outside the Wabash Valley Recovery Center located at 500 Farrington Street in Terre Haute, Ind. Kits are also available inside the center.
Naloxone, also known to some as Narcan, can reverse the effects of opioid drugs in case of an overdose. Directions come with the nasal spray that is described as very easy to use.
Center Director Christy Crowder said people take around 30 kits a month. Wabash Valley Recovery Services also offers free help for those with addictions.
