TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One person was taken into custody after leading police on a pursuit Friday afternoon.
Terre Haute Police say they were called around 4:15 p.m. to assist with a traffic stop near 13th St. and Buckeye St. after learning the driver of the vehicle had an active warrant for their arrest.
The driver, later identified as Donald P. Murray, 40, of Terre Haute allegedly did not stop, at which time the vehicle pursuit began.
Police said the chase ended near Stratford Hills subdivision where Murray drove into a creek.
Murray allegedly attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended by a West Terre Haute Police K9.
Police said Murray was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Murray is being charged with:
- Resisting law enforcement
- Criminal recklessness
- Operator never licensed
- Reckless driving
- Failure to appear warrant
Murray is being held in the Vigo County Jail.
