TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Four-time national coach of the year Josh Schertz will become Indiana State University’s next men’s basketball coach, Director of Athletics Sherard Clinkscales announced Wednesday.
Schertz will be introduced at a news conference at Thursday at Hulman Center.
Schertz has a 336-68 record in 13 years at NCAA Division II Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. He led the Railsplitters to 10 NCAA tournament appearances, two Southeast Regional titles, 13 conference championships, and five seasons of 30 or more victories.
“I am grateful that Josh and (wife) Natalia ran to this tremendous opportunity to bring the championship culture he established at Lincoln Memorial to ISU,” Clinkscales said. “Josh is blessed with a strong business and basketball acumen that will raise the profile of our program while bringing in a style of play that has a proven record of success.”
Schertz will coach Lincoln Memorial in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament on March 24-27 in Evansville, Indiana. Reseedings and matchups will be announced Wednesday.
