TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Historical Museum is moving online to raise money.
You can adopt an artifact starting on Tuesday.
The museum will put up 50 unique items. You will then bid against others to become a sponsor. The sponsorship is for one year.
Museum executive director Susan Tingley says all the money raised will go back to the museum.
She says some perks of becoming a sponsor include an adoption packet that has free passes to the museum, and a behind-the-scenes tour.
“We have different artifacts available some that are very popular artifacts, for instance Stiffy Green, our famous haunted legend from Highland Lawn Cemetery,” Tingley said. “We also have a very iconic symbol of the Historical Museum — Tootootch, the totem poll that used to be out in front of the Historical Museum since the 1960s, and now he has a great place at the center of the stairway in the new museum.”
Bidding starts Tuesday and closes Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. Head to the Vigo County Historical Museum’s website to view all items up for bidding.
