WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Locally owned McDonald’s Restaurants have raised $14,437.50 for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Central Indiana. Through the Sleeves for Support fundraiser, developed in partnership with Coca-Cola, sales of insulated beverage sleeves in 21 local McDonald’s restaurants went to RMHC.
“RMHC has allowed so many families in our local community to stay together and near their sick children who are receiving care,” said Robert Jedele, local McDonald’s owner/operator. “It’s important to us to support that mission in any way we can to ensure the same access for families in the future.”
In addition to Sleeves for Support, local McDonald’s restaurants give back through the Penny Per Happy Meal initiative, collection boxes that allow patrons to donate extra cash or change, and the Round Up for RMHC program, where guests can round their bill up to the nearest dollar and donate the difference. Funds raised through these campaigns support RMHC’s mission to create, find and support programs that improve the health and well-being of children and their families.
The 21 local McDonald’s restaurants participating in the fundraiser are owned by local operators including Matthew Comte, Robert Jedele, Wally Nowakowski and Nick and Jami Kasprzyk.
