TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Some new improvements could soon be on their way to the Vigo County Industrial Park.
Tuesday, the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission opened bids for a new paving project at the industrial park.
The roads expected to be repaved are Pfizer Drive, James Adams Street, and Palmer Drive.
The only contractor to bid on the project was Wabash Valley Asphalt.
Their bid came in at just over $628,000, this is less than the engineers estimate.
Officials say improvements to the industrial park are needed to continue attracting new companies.
“We have very robust infrastructure. We’ve built in a robust way since day one back in the 1990’s and we continue to do that today and our companies appreciate it. We just have to have significant infrastructure to be able to accommodate industry and that’s what we strive to do,” said Steve Witt, president of Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation.
Witt says the bid will now be reviewed and the commission hopes to award the bid next Tuesday.
