TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– The Freedom Warrior Militia honored fallen veterans across the Wabash Valley Saturday with their Warrior ride.
The group started at at the American Legion Post 346. They then traveled to other five VFW’s around the area.
Walter Steiger, chaplain for the group, lost his father in June 17 year due to complications from Agent Orange.
He said he believes we shouldn’t only honor veterans after they’ve passed away.
“It’s important for our community to understand that, we shouldn’t have to have special events to honor our veterans our veterans gave their lives for our country, who gave us freedoms to do what we’re doing,” he said.
The proceeds from today’s event will be used to fund an upcoming project by the veteran motorcycle club.
