VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Monday marked the start of the fall semester at Vincennes University.
VU President Charles Johnson says the university distributed masks to students, faculty and staff members.
The university also reduced residence hall capacities and reduced class sizes.
“You can tell students are really excited to be back together to see friends they hadn’t seen in awhile. Of course, we wrapped up last year pretty abruptly and they didn’t get a chance to get those goodbyes and the chance to build on those memories, so you can see there’s a lot of interest in trying to resume those friends and get involved in activities as soon as we can do that,” Johnson says.
The university plans to offer in-person classes until Thanksgiving and then finish the rest of the semester virtually.
