TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A staff member at Terre Haute South Vigo High School tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a press release from the Vigo County School Corporation on Thursday afternoon.
The staffer was on school grounds during their infectious period, and contact tracers have identified and quarantined those who came in close contact with the staff member.
This comes one day after a staff member at Honey Creek Middle School also tested positive for the virus.
The Vigo County School Corporation has already pushed back the start of their school year by one week, with students scheduled to attend classes beginning August 18.
The start date was originally pushed back due to a delayed shipment of Chromebooks, as well as to give time to schools to plan out building logistics and gauge the response to alternative options to in-person classes.
