Effner will be seeking to replace the retiring Judge Michael R. Rader.
Effner has been an attorney in Terre Haute for 23 years. Currently, he is the managing partner of Effner Law Firm, a position he has held since 2013.
Effner is a former president of the Terre Haute Bar Association, and has been active with several local organizations, including Leadership Wabash Valley, St. Mary-of-the-Woods Paralegal Advisory Board, the Terre Haute Bar Association and the Mock Trial Committee, which plans an annual mock trial event for 8th Grade Vigo County middle school students.
He has also serves as a member of the Vigo County Drug Court Team and the Vigo County Drug Court Advisory Committee.
Effner is a 1988 graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School and a 1992 graduate of Purdue University. He received his law degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1995.
Effner has been married to Cathy (Robinson) Effner for 21 years, and they have twin daughters, Caroline and Olivia, both of whom attend Terre Haute North Vigo High School.
