Eva Kor was a holocaust survivor who dedicated her life to educating people about the holocaust and the experiments that were performed on her and her twin sister Miriam, by Nazi doctor Josef Mengele.
In 2007, Kor proposed legislation that now requires public high schools across the state to educate students about the holocaust.
Eva Kor founded the Candles Museum in 1995 in Terre Haute.
The museum’s director, Leah Simpson, said the proclamation is the final part to Eva’s mission.
“It’s always been Eva’s mission to educate all of the children in Indiana. This announcement as well as the DVDs and the tool kits going to every school in Indiana, just fulfills her dream,” said Simpson.
The museum will celebrate 25 years this year.
