Spectacle Jack was the lone applicant for the Vigo County casino license. The proposed Rocksino has been approved at the local level ; however, the license has not been approved by the Indiana Gaming Commission.
A look at the application offers insight into what the Hard Rock-branded casino would look like if approved as submitted to the state.
The Rocksino building would be located off of State Road 46 at the intersection of Bill Farr Drive and Joe Fox Street, and would include 1,150 slot machines as well as 50 table games.
The layout of a proposed Terre Haute casino includes 1,150 slot machines and 50 table games in the gaming area. Four restaurants, four bars and a showroom capable of seating 300 guests are also included in the plans.
While a hotel is not part of the casino layout, one guest entrance would be an enclosed, climate-controlled connection to the adjacent Home2Suites.
Gambling wouldn’t be the only entertainment offered at the casino. A 300-seat showroom, Velvet Sessions, would host live music, comedy and other events. According to the application, the space could be “readily transformed to host any type of event from a poker tournament, to business events and meetings, to a cocktail reception or a wedding.”
Food and beverages would be at the ready with four restaurants–A Hard Rock Cafe, a buffet, steakhouse and coffee shop–included in the plans. Four bars would also be available.
Self-parking and valet-parking options would both be available.
Vigo County residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the casino and to share their own thoughts on the project during a meeting hosted by the Indiana Gaming Commission Feb. 7 at the Vigo County Public Library.
