It happened around 3:30 P.M. Wednesday on County Road 1800 North at County Road 1470 East. That’s about five miles north of Lawrenceville.
Illinois State Police say a vehicle was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times into a wooded area.
Police say the driver, 27-year-old Aaron V. Ericksen III of Bridgeport, Illinois, was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 17-year-old female passenger from Vincennes was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.
