GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The sister of a missing Greene County man described her brother as friendly, though she said he likes to keep to himself.
Cindy Carpenter said her brother, Danny Carpenter, disappeared last month around the anniversary of their mother’s passing. She had been told her brother was depressed leading up to the disappearance, though she wasn’t sure if it was due to the anniversary or his poor health.
Authorities say they aren’t ruling out anything as they continue to investigate the case.
Carpenter’s last known stop before disappearing was at Owen County State Bank in Spencer. Carpenter’s phone last pinged on Oct. 14; however, detectives noted that the phone was pay-as-you-go.
Carpenter is described as 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He may also have a full gray beard. He is believed to be in poor health and may have difficulty breathing and some mental confusion.
He was last seen driving a 2012 white Ford F-250 pickup truck with the license plate number “TK281NPC.”
With hunting season in full swing and fall foliage falling from the trees, detectives believe the white truck would be easier to spot in the woods at this time. Those out hunting are encouraged to be on the lookout.
They believe with deer season in full swing and foliage falling from the trees, the potential to locate the truck is greatly enhanced.
If anyone has information in the case, they should contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Department or Det. Shawn Cullison.
