TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After noticing a vehicle failure to signal, a Indiana State Trooper was able to take a drunk driver off the roadway.
When the trooper pulled him over, Orelius T. Barnett III, 34, of Brazil, Ind. had a blood alcohol content of 0.33 percent–more than four times greater than the legal limit.
A 13-year-old boy and the boy’s mother were passengers in the vehicle.
Barnett was arrested on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated with a passenger younger than 18-years-of-age and misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated with a BAC 0.15% or more and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person.
He was taken to the Vigo County Jail where he is being held without bond.
The boy was released to his mother, who was not intoxicated.
