LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Linton Mayor John Wilkes said park vandals should turn themselves in “immediately” before they are identified.
He noted that the Linton Police Department and city administration are working to stop “the expensive damages caused by disrespectful people.”
The latest vandals were caught on camera Wednesday night as they emptied trash containers on the ground of the Linton park. The containers were then thrown on top of basketball hoops.
While the culprits are unidentifiable from the surveillance footage, Wilkes is confident tips will lead to a positive identification.
“Our great park personnel have already picked up most of the trash but this has to stop,” Wilkes wrote in a
Facebook post
Thursday. “Someone knows who did this and their conscience should be bothering them today.”
Wilkes added that while the city has surveillance cameras and police officers to patrol, everyone’s help is needed.
