The construction is scheduled to last for two weeks, but if weather permits, it could only be closed for a week.
INDOT said the road will only be open to residential traffic. All other traffic will be asked to use marked detours.
INDOT communication director Jason Tiller said INDOT wants to work with commuters to make the transition smooth and efficient for the extent of the construction.
“It is necessary work that needs to be done, and we have to get it done,” said Tiller. “So again, we have taken every step that we can to make this as short as possible, in as small of an amount of time as possible. So, we are trying to minimize the inconvenience to the residents and the motoring public alike.”
According to Tiller, INDOT will notify motorists of the project’s completion either though its social media or through its website.
