Last Thursday, an unidentified odor prompted the school to close. Some people were even sent to the hospital for observation.
After air quality tests were performed over the weekend, school resumed Monday.
“Information discovered through the investigation revealed that one possible source of the chemical-based odor may have been due to the inadvertent release of the chemical ‘pepper spray,’” a statement from the school said.
According to school officials, “all steps have been taken to eradicate the odor and any possible residual effects.”
The school also said a notice will be sent to all staff with directives on how pepper spray must be handled when carried into the school.
