TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State Police released the results from extra traffic patrols conducted Friday and Saturday evenings during the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
ISP issued nearly 200 traffic tickets over the course of the two nights, and over 350 traffic warnings. Troopers handed out 58 seatbelt citations to drivers.
There were 117 criminal arrests; 95 misdemeanor charges and 22 felony charges. Twenty seven portable breath tests were given and 19 DUI arrests were made.
ISP says the extra patrols were meant to keep those attending the Extravaganza safe.
