BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Bloomfield School District goes on lockdown after the administration was notified by Bloomfield Police of an attempted abduction of a woman in town.
School administrators decided to place campus on an external lockdown as a precaution.
School officials say students at recess and seniors eating lunch in the park were brought back inside the building.
The school corporation says students needing to leave will be escorted to their vehicles. Parents/guardians needing to pick up their child will be required to contact the respective office and the student will be escorted to them.
In the press release, Superintendent Jeff Gibboney says
We would like to reassure parents our school was not targeted and our students and staff are safe. Bloomfield School District will continue to follow our lockdown protocol through the end of school today.
