TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State Police confirmed that no explosive device was found following an investigation into a suspicious package Thursday.
ISP Explosive Ordinance team set off a controlled explosion to neutralize the potential threat of a suspicious package found on Clinton Street.
While further investigation confirmed the public was never in any danger from the package, roper protocols and precautions were taken to guarantee public safety.
According to ISP Public Information Officer Sgt. Matt Ames, a trooper was in the area finishing paperwork in his car when the resident at 5358 N. Clinton Street knocked on his window to report the suspicious package on a trashcan.
The trooper examined the package before calling the Explosive Ordinance Disposal team in Indianapolis around 8:30 am.
The EOD team arrived on scene around 10:30am.
