MARSHALL Ill. (WTWO/WAWV)- A storm from Father’s day this year cause damage to the fairgrounds located in Marshall.
Officials said the severe wind blew a roof off of one horse barn and completely destroyed another.
Clark County fair board president Chris O’Rourke said the damage was pretty heavy, but luckily the community stepped in and helped with the clean up.
O’Rourke said without the volunteer efforts from the community they might still be cleaning up the damages, but now they are able to rebuild.
He said everything that needed to be done before the start of fair week (Sunday/Monday) got done, while everything else can be worked on after the fair is over.
Officials said Monday night is harness racing starting at 6 p.m.
Tuesday through Saturday all events will start at 7 p.m.
