EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – An armed robbery suspect police had been looking for near the Crawford and Lawrence county line is in custody.
Illinois State Police posted the update on their Facebook page Wednesday morning.
Previously, state police had warned the public to avoid picking up hitchhikers and to lock all doors, as the suspect had allegedly fled on foot from Illinois Route 1 near the county line.
