TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Car professionals say hot weather can impact your vehicle.
Gary Patel, the fixed operations director at Dorsett Automotive, says hot weather can be as bad for your car as cold weather.
Patel says a car’s battery is the most impacted in hot temperatures, due to the risk of battery acids boiling.
The heat can also affect tire pressure and cooling systems within a vehicle.
Patel says if drivers have questions about their car in the heat, they should reach out to a professional.
“Make sure that it gets checked out by a certified technician that knows what he’s doing because the hot weather can leave you stranded just as quick as the cold weather. The problem is, in the hot weather you have no air conditioning,” Patel said.
Patel also says paying attention to your cars temperature gauge is important to prevent overheating.
