VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A 10-year prison sentence was handed out Thursday for a man who was found walking away from a fatal crash two years ago in Knox County.
Twenty-five-year-old Joshua Slone was sentenced in the Knox Circuit Court for causing death while operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
The sentence stemmed from a crash June 6, 2017 in Vincennes that killed John Creamer, 20, and seriously injured three other passengers.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney MacKenzi Payne-Crowe argued on behalf of the State, asking the judge to sentence Slone to 10 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
Following testimony from the victims and witnesses and arguments from prosecution and defense, Slone was sentenced to 10 years in the Indiana Department of Correction, with two years suspended and as a condition of probation and one year to the Life After Meth Program.
