TERRE HAUTE Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) — CANDLES Museum and Holocaust Education Center reopened Tuesday after the death of its founder Eva Kor.
Kor died early in the morning on the 4th of July unexpectedly, and left many with a heavy heart. The news came as a damper on America’s festivities for the Wabash community.
Family, staff and friends decided to host a remembrance service at the museum Tuesday to celebrate the life of Kor and the many people she helped and inspired along the way.
The museum is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow visitors to pay their respects to Kor, and to look at the many memories she made in her 85 years.
The service will continue through this Saturday ending with a vigil at 1 p.m.
Program Coordinator Marcus Steiner said after this week the museum will go back to its normal exhibits and continue the legacy Kor left behind.
