SULLIVAN Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) — The Sullivan County Park and Lake rescheduled its fireworks for this weekend due to a rain delay.
The fireworks intended for last Saturday to celebrate the 4th of July will now be held this Saturday, the same weekend the Sullivan County Fair kicks-off.
Starting on Saturday, 4-H will begin livestock judging.
The two events scheduled at the same time on Saturday have some 4Hers concerned for their animals.
Officials said the schedule overlap wasn’t intentional, and the show must go on. For all those concerned, fair board members said they are confident everything will run smoothly this year.
We’ll just be vigilant and we’ll watch over them and make sure everything goes as planned.”

Badger said if owners are worried about their animals, they can always check in earlier on Friday or Saturday to give their animals plenty of time to get used to their pens.
Park officials confirmed the rain delay is the cause of the scheduling overlap, but that fireworks will begin on Saturday evening.
