BRAZIL., Ind. — A special prosecutor has been requested to handle the Operating While Intoxicated charge of an assistant police chief.
Brazil Police Department Assistant Police Chief Dennis Archer, 43, was pulled over June 23 by an Indiana State Police trooper who said he noticed “unsafe lane movement.” A breath test confirmed Archer’s blood alcohol concentration was .09 percent.
Archer was preliminary charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with endangerment and unsafe lane movement.
The Clay County prosecutor’s office confirmed that a special prosecutor had been requested.
According to the Clay County Circuit Clerks office, formal charged had not been filed as of Thursday afternoon.
