KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Jasper man is facing federal charges on accusations that he stole nearly $100,000 from a Knox County not-for-profit.
Mark Schmitt was employed as the assistant director of Attic Inc. when, according to court documents, he allegedly made unauthorized funds transfers from an Attic account to his own personal account. It is believed that during a one-year period, Schmitt transferred approximately $98,000 to his own account.
If he’s found guilty on the theft charge, Schmitt could face up to 10 years in prison.
