SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana State Police are seeking information regarding thousands of dollars worth of stolen copper wire.
According to authorities, Sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. Friday, a wooden spool of copper wire, totaling approximately 1000 feet, was taken from the railroad tracks on State Road 54 just west of the Greene/Sullivan county line.

The wooden spool has the name “Okonite” on it. The wire has a black coating with a white wrap and is approximately 1 to 1½ inches in diameter. The wooden spool weighs approximately 2,000 pounds.
