TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A day on the golf course is helping make a difference in the lives of local youth.
Hamilton Center held its 28th annual Sheriff’s Shootout on Friday.
50 teams participated, including various sheriff’s offices, as well as community members.
The goal was to support the Hamilton Center and the programs it provides.
The focus this year was on the mentoring program, which helps at-risk youth.
“We’re able to use these funds to incentivize some of the kids to do something different. Do something different with their behavior, do something different with their graeds, just coming to school more,” says Tatu Brown, manager of outreach services at Hamilton Center.
Hamilton Center serves ten counties in the Wabash Valley.
