Each week, I’m highlighting some of my favorite new songs!
Some are new singles, others are album cuts, but they’re all guaranteed to be stuck in your head all day long!
Last summer, Aaron Watson chugged up the charts with a
50 week climb to number 10 – the slowest trek of a Top 10 song, ever
– with his infectiously catchy anthem Outta Style and then, he sort of disappeared for a while.
It’s a shame, too, because his much anticipated follow up is as much of a jam as his breakthrough hit. Aaron introduced Run Wild Horses to country radio and it’s the steamy cowboy love song that the world didn’t know it needed.
Like, imagine a Fabio-clad romance cover, riding horse on the beach at sunset. I’m telling you, if a Danielle Steel novel had theme song, it would be this song.
With three children to shuttle back and forth between practices and recitals, Aaron has said that he and his wife Kimberly work very hard to carve out time to be together. They’ve been happily married for 15 years now and this song is a celebration of their *ahem* intimate time together.
OH and Aaron describes this song a
“just two chords and sexy,â€
so…
Overall, it’s a true country ballad unlike anything else on the radio right now and deserves as much loving as the couple in the song does.
