Eric Michaels
Like sand through an hour glass, so are the days of our……wait a minute I HATE soap operas.  However, day by day we go on right.  So you’ve stopped by to read up on me, what do you want to know?  What makes Eric Michaels tick you ask?  Well that is a very complicated question, not as complicated as asking that about Frank, but then again who could be as complicated as that guy?!

Life began at Union Hospital here in Terre Haute on the 19th of June 1983, it was Fathers day and my dad, to this day, reminds me of the golf game he had planned that day, well sorry dad, but I had other plans for you!  Did the normal stuff growing up, little league, basketball etc..etc..etc… although I seemed to spend more time on the bench than I did on the field, so I guess that’s why my scholarship to play for Bob Knight never quite worked out like I hoped.  So, as the years went by I saw myself passing through the halls of Dixie Bee then onto Honey Creek and finally to Terre Haute South from which I graduated in 2001.  Then it was on to Indiana State University, through 2 years of general education and constantly getting the question….”what are you majoring in….!?”  I settled upon a bachelor’s degree in Communications, specifically Radio/TV/Film.  During this time is when I walked into WTHI for the first time, began working as an intern, then as a behind the scenes guy, eventually landing here in the afternoon slot.

Work consumes a lot of my life, when I’m not at the station you can find me DJing several parties, weddings and other events throughout the Wabash Valley.  I’m a huge NASCAR fan, am thrilled that I can FINALLY root for the Budweiser car with Kasey Kahne behind the wheel (sorry Dale Jr., fans!).  I also love NHRA Drag Racing, I got to attend last years U.S. Nationals in Indy, and being able to walk through the pits and talk, yes TALK to the drivers was awesome, considering now-a-days you can’t even get within’ like 50 feet of a Nascar driver!  I guess you can pretty much call me a gear head, I love anything with a big motor and 4 wheels, specifically Chrysler/Dodge/Mopar products!  Oh yeah, can’t forget to mention I love spending time with my girlfriend, Ashley, and also my friends and family are very important to me.
